Lush Cup O’Coffee Face & Body Mask Review ðŸŒ¼

Hello my lovelies ❤️

How are you all today?
Can you believe it’s July?!?!  TIME FLIES 😱 Shame the UK weather is making it feel like it’s March or something! 😂

Anyways, Today I wanted to review a mask/scrub from Lush that I have been loving!

Lush Cup O’Coffee Face & Body Mask

This is the Cup O’Coffee face & body mask.  This is a must have for coffee lovers as it has such a deep scent of coffee which is actually extremely invigorating! (Even though I’m more of a tea person 😉)

This masks contains Kaolin to draw out any impurities from the skin and the ground coffee in this acts to slough away dead skin cells that may have built up.

As you can see it’s a pretty scary looking mask 😂 but I promise you it’s worth it.  This lasts absolutely AGES and doesn’t need to be stored in the refrigerator unlike the fresh face masks by Lush.  You take a liberal amount of the product and apply it to the desired area in soft, circular motions.  I leave it on for around 15 minutes and then gently scrub off with lukewarm water.

A small warning, this mask can get quite messy when removing as it leaves tiny coffee particles EVERYWHERE!

Everytime I use this mask, I am blown away by it.  My skin honestly GLOWS 🌞 and a slap of moisturiser afterwards just leaves my skin feeling so baby soft, rejuvenated and radiant.
It’s also not that pricey! I believe I bought a 100g tub for £6.50 (and it lasted me a couple of months)

However, I feel the scent is a love or hate kind of scent.  I know some people who absolutely detest the smell of this mask.

I give this mask a 8/10 and I would honestly keep repurchasing it ❤️ I love it.

Have any of you guys tried this mask?

What is your favourite Lush mask?

Let me know 😊
Until next time my loves,

Soap and Glory ‘No Clogs Allowed’ Deep Pore Detox Mask Review â˜˜

Hello my lovelies! ❤️

I hope everyone is doing fabulous 💙💙

My oh my have I missed blogging!

The weather here in England is absolutely GORGEOUS and I’ve been making the most out of it because knowing the Great British weather, we will probably have snow tomorrow 😂😂
Today, I wanted to review this detoxing mask by Soap and Glory.

I picked this up from Boots when they had 30% off (you know what I’m like with products that claim to “unclog pores” 😌❤️)

This is a ‘super self heating’ mask, which means that when you apply the mask to your face and rub it with water, it really heats up.

This mask is for oily/combination skin and claims to unclog pores, soften skin and is deep cleansing.
I have been using this mask once a week after a steamy shower for around 2 months now and want to give my honest opinion on it 😊

This mask has a thick consistency and applys very easily to the face with very little mess.  It has tiny beads in it which burst to give the mask a blue tinge when water is applied.  As claimed, this heats up when it comes into contact with water and I must say, it feels really nice!

I leave this mask on for around 10 minutes until I can no longer feel the ‘heating sensation’ and I wipe it off with a muslin cloth.

The results are impressive! 😊 The first time I used this mask, I could see the gunk from my pores (sorry if that sounds very graphic 😂) at the surface, my skin looked very bright and felt so smooth!  Continuous use has definitely decreased the visibility of my pores and and I find I have less clogged pores now.  And for those of you with dry skin, I think this could also be an option for you guys as it left no dryness/sensitivity.  In fact, my skin felt very moisturised.

One thing about this mask however, is that I am not a fan of the smell.  It reminds me of my uni days in the laboratory (weird I know).

Overall, this is not a ‘miracle’ product but with continuous use over time, it definitely cleared out my pores, decreased the size of pimples and made my skin look soft and plump.

Rating: 8/10 😊

Price: £11.50

Have you guys tried any Soap and Glory products?  What would you recommend?
Hope you enjoyed reading this and have a fabulous day my loves!

Nivea Post Shave Balm Review

I’m soooo sorry that I’ve been gone so long 😭 I had the most horrible exam period but it’s FINALLY over!  I’m back in uni on Monday for my final ever semester 😱 time flies!

Anyway. How are you all?! ❤️

Today, I wanted to give you all my opinion on the Nivea Post Shave Balm in sensitive as a primer!  I’ve been hearing sooo many awesome things about it so just had to pick it up (felt a bit awkward venturing into the men’s aisle 😂)!   NikkieTutorials on youtube first blessed us with this hack.  Let’s see if it lives up to the hype…

nivea post shave balm

I purchased the balm in sensitive because my skin freaks out sometimes when I put something new on it.

I’m not really sure about the science behind why this works as a primer but I know it contains a large amount of glycerin which helps your foundation latch onto it!

Now, you all know I have.. Probably the oiliest skin to ever grace mankind 😂 so I was quite skeptical about this working on me, but for the cheap price I was willing to give it a shot.

The consistency of this is more like a really lightweight moisturiser than a balm.  One thing I don’t like about the packaging is I find it difficult to control how much comes out but hey! Can’t win them all!

I apply this after my moisturiser (I don’t know if I’m meant to though?!?! Does it affect how it works?! Someone let me know!).  I rub about a pea sized amount in my hand (a small amount is PLENTY) and apply all over my face.  This does have quite a manly smell of aftershave but this disappears after a few seconds.  It also gets a little tacky so your foundation or concealer really clings onto it.

After I’ve applied it to my face, I take my foundation or concealer and apply as normal.  Does it work? YES!

My skin after a long day looks way less oily than without this balm.  Being as oily as I am, I was bound to get a little shiny but honestly this has made a visible difference, especially on my nose and forehead!  My foundation looked pretty much intact, whereas normally it would be sliding off my face and just generally look like a million ice bergs. Ha!

ALSO, I don’t know whether it’s the new mask I’m using or this balm, but my skin looks a lot more even and my scars are decreasing!  I’ll investigate and let you know 😉

The only downside to this is the lack of control I have when dispensing product but with the amount of product in this, I don’t think I’m running out any time soon!

I just hope drugstores don’t hike the price of this baby up!  Everybody go stockpile some 😂

I would recommend this for all skintypes!  It’s a solid primer and I’m glad I don’t need to spend £££ on other high end primers!

Hope you found this little review helpful! Can’t wait to get back into a blogging routine again!  Any questions please let me know!

Have a nice day!

Lush Fresh Face Masks Review â¤ï¸

Helloooo lovelies! ❤️

Sorry for the late post!  I’ve been so busy trying to get my life together these past couple of weeks (the stresses of final year and trying to still have a social life haha)! 😩

Anyway. Hope you’re all doing awesome.  Who’s excited for christmas?!  I hope we have a white one this year! 😍❄️

Today, I wanted to do a quick review on some Lush face masks I have been using these past two weeks or so!

Some of you will know how much I ADORE Lush face masks 😍 they feel so luxurious on the face, not to mention they smell amazing (catastrophe cosmetic, cupcake & oatfix just to name a few!).  They are perfect for a girly night in ❤️

The two masks I have been using these past few weeks are ‘Catastrophe Cosmetic’ and ‘Don’t look at me’.

Let’s start with ‘Don’t look at me’!

Don’t look at me fresh face mask

This is a vivid blue gloop that is hard to miss!  I loved the smell of this mask.  It was a very citrussy, zingy smell (due to the fresh lemon juice inside 🍋) and left me feeling so refreshed!  Other ingredients include Kaolin Clay to draw out impurities, ground rice which is the PERFECT exfoliator for me in terms of how gentle yet effective it is, and murumuru butter to moisturise!

This is quite an easy mask to apply unlike some masks from Lush (Achem oatfix) and left me looking like a smurf!  Safe to say I scared a few people whilst walking around with this on 😂.  I left this on for about 15 mins and it does tighten ever so slightly due to the kaolin clay.  When I went to wash it off, I scrubbed gently in circular motions to help exfoliate my skin.

This mask left my face looking so BRIGHT and GLOWY! 😍  I love the fact it’s a mask and scrub all in one!

However, one thing I was a bit disappointed by was the fact it didn’t help much with marks and scars.  I would have expected the lemon juice to help slightly.  But that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t use it again!  I think a longer use would help with any scarring. 😊 I would definitely buy this mask again!  Fun to use with effective results! ❤️

The next mask I purchased was ‘Catastrophe Cosmetic’ (possibly my all time favourite after Brazened Honey!).

Catastrophe Cosmetic fresh face mask

First of all, let’s talk about the scent!  THIS IS AMAZING!  It smells of fresh blueberries with a slight powdery scent! Love love love ❤️❤️❤️

This mask contains fresh blueberries and chamomile blue oil which are packed with anti-oxidants to calm and heal the skin, perfect for them pesky breakouts and sensitive skin!

This is also a blue coloured mask, albeit not as vivid as the previous mask mentioned 😂

This is quite a thick mask and is a tiny more difficult to apply than don’t look at me.  I left it on till it started to crumble slightly (it can get very crumbly if you leave it on too long).

When I went to wash this off, I noticed that it wasn’t much of an exfoliator but that didn’t bother me.  This feels like VELVET when you wash it off 😍😍 so powdery and smooth (a bit messy though).

I noticed that after washing, my face looked very even toned and any redness I had around the t-zone was gone!  So this mask does work!  I felt refreshed and calm 💪

One thing I HATE about the fresh face masks are the expiry dates!  I had to use both these masks within 2 weeks so I would recommend applying a very generous amount (they seem to take ages to finish which doesn’t help haha!), but I understand that they are freshly made.  Better safe than sorry.

I would highly recommend these masks to everyone!  They have something for all skin types! They would also be perfect for a girls night in! 😍 so luxurious and they smell amazing! *squeals*

I hope you enjoyed this review!  If anyone has some other fresh face mask recommendations, please let me know!  I’d love to try them out!

Hope you all have a lovely day!  Love you guys!

Bettes Handmade Organic Skincare Review ðŸŒ¿

Goood evening lovely people! 🌹

Hope you’re all well ❤️

It’s December!!! 😱 Is it just me or has this year absolutely flown by?!  I wish I could rewind time sometimes and go back to certain periods of my life ☺️ But Onwards and Upwards! 💃🏻

Today I wanted to review some amazing handmade skincare sent to me by a lovely lady named Mette!  Honestly, she is such a kind lady with so much talent ☺️

Mette makes her own organic skincare with no nasty chemicals (heaven for me!) and uses herbs from her own back garden! How amazing is that?!  The skincare range is packed with ingrediens to calm and heal the skin in higher concentrations than what you would find in conventional skincare which makes them much more effective!

Bettes handmade organic skincare

I was sent a lovely package with 3 of her skincare items inside namely:

🌹 Luminous Face Scrub

🌹 Beauty Serum

🌹 Beauty Cream

First of all, let’s talk about the packaging!  It is extremely sturdy yet simple and oozes sophistication and quality.  I believe the two jars are glass and the beauty serum seems like it is in a metal packaging.

The first item I tried was the luminous scrub!

Bettes luminous face scrub 60ml

This scrub is such a beautiful vibrant colour!  It is packed with carrot oil and vitamin E and brown cane sugar!  I use this once a week as this is a PROPER scrub.  It will slough off them dead skin cells with ease.  I like to take some with the spatula provided (handy!) and massage it into my face with soft circular motions.  The sugar melts away and I use that as an indication as to when to wash it off 🌿

I kid you not, my skin was SO soft and moisturised after using this that I almost had the urge not to moisturise haha!  Usually, scrubs leave me dry and red but not this one.  My skin was glowing and felt revitalised!  This scrub would be amazing for all skin types in my opinion!  A real luxurious product 😍😍

After the scrub, I applied the beauty serum!

Bettes beauty serum 30ml

Now this serum had an ingredient I wasn’t very familiar with!  Sea Buckthorn Oil.  So, I went and did some research on it!  Apparently, it’s great for healing the skin and also has an anti-ageing effect!

I used about 3 small drops for my whole face.  This was very surprising as I was expecting it to be very greasy due to the coconut oil!  I was very wrong!  This absorbed in to my skin so fast and there wasn’t a trace of greasiness at all (fab news for my oily skin!).  At this point I was constantly touching my face because it was as soft as a babes bottom! 😂

This serum is definitely my favourite from the 3!  I have seen an improvement in my skin tone and my acne scarring has faded which is amazing 😱.  When this finishes, I am definitely repurchasing!  I also like to use it in my hair (I don’t know if I’m supposed to but what’s the harm right?! Hehe) and it feels more silkier than normal 😊

I can’t really talk about it’s effect on wrinkles (I’m 20 ha!) but I guess I’m preventing then by using this serum as it’s packed with anti-oxidants!

Finally, let’s talk about the beauty cream.

Bettes beauty cream 50ml

I think this is the only product with some sort of preservative (all natural of course) and that’s understandable!

I was the most scared about using this cream as it seemed very thick and emollient and not a good idea for my oily skin.  I was wrong!  And again, very surprised!

I use this cream in the mornings after a quick cleanse.  I take a small amount out using the spatula provided and really massage it into my face.  My foundation went on really well on top of this so as a base, it works really well.  The most surprising thing about this cream is that IT KEEPS ME MATTE THROUGHOUT THE DAY WHAAAT?!??  ðŸ˜±ðŸ˜±

Guys!  It’s amazing!  How?! Why?! Huh?! Coconut oil and cocoa butter seems like the worst ingrediets to put on oily skin but this works! I’m still surprised 😍😍 love love love!

This also leaves a lovely glow and leaves my face feeling soft and supple ❤️ perfect. Couldn’t ask for more in a cream 😊

These products range from £12 to £21 if my conversions are right.  So they are slightly more expensive than your average drugstore lotions and potions but I think it’s fabulous value for money!  The concentrations and potencies of the ingredients are something you aren’t going to find in a lot of products and the expiry date is ~6 months but these products will definitely make a difference to your skin straight away!  As Mette says herself, there’s a sprinkle of modern witchcraft in these products ❤️

I would highly recommend checking these awesome products out if you’re looking for skincare that packs a punch 😉😉

I really hope you enjoyed this review and if you have any questions about the products please feel free to ask. 🌿🌹

Have a great weekend ya’ll!

Skincare tips for healthy, glowing skin â¤ï¸â¤ï¸

Hi everyone!!

Gosh 😱  It feels like I haven’t posted in a long time!  What with university coming up, I’m trying to organise my somewhat cluttered life up!

University is a time when my skin just goes crazy.  I don’t know what it is but it looks terrible for the whole semester, gets better in the holidays and then goes crazy on me again 😔.  Maybe it’s stress or my disgustingly unhealthy diet, but I will not let it happen this year!!

So, I want to do a post about some skincare tips, to keep our skin looking fresh and healthy all year round 😍.  Here we go.

  • DRINK WATER!  I can’t stress how important this is.  The reason everyone bangs on about keeping yourself hydrated and it’s benefits is because it’s true!  I’ve recently increased the amount of water I drink, and have noticed a huge difference in my skin!  It looks more glowy and feels more supple.  I would recommend sipping water throughout the day, rather than gulping it down in one go (you’ll be taking a lot of trips to the loo if you gulp!).  Also, don’t go overboard (not everyone needs the recommended 2 litres a day!).  Too much water and you will be diluting important electrolytes and minerals your body needs.  I would recommend looking at your pee colour (gross I know).   It should be a light straw to clear colour.
  • Use sunscreen!  Even when it’s cloudy outside (a minimum of spf15), as UVA rays can easily penetrate clouds.  Trust me, you’ll be preventing fine lines and wrinkles and you will be less likely to get sun damaged.
  • Invest in a good face cleanser!  It’s so important to get the days grime and oil off your face, especially before bed.  Avoid cleansers with harsh ingredients like sulphates, parabens and alcohol, which can dry out your skin and in turn, make your skin overcompensate on the oil production, leading to clogged pores and acne.  A good one is ‘Liz Earle’s cleanse and polish hot cloth cleanser’.  If your face wash foams too much, it’s a sign it has stripping ingredients.  Switch to one with less lather, or even a cleansing oil/milk.
  • Always remove all traces of makeup before bed!   Another simple tip that many people don’t do properly.  Any makeup on the skin can block pores and contribute to acne.  So take some time before bed to really get it off.  Be gentle around the eyes (I would recomment a micellar water or cleansing balm for the eyes).  It also feels amazing!  Fresh, clean skin that can breathe at night 😄
  • Don’t pick your pimples!  Picking spots all the time can lead to unsightly scars and hyperpigmentation (trust me I know. I use to always pick my skin).  Now, I won’t say don’t  pop a pimple when there’s a clear massive white head just SCREAMING to be removed.  Pop it.  However, don’t use your fingers.  Use a cloth/tissue on either side of the pimple and gently squeeze.  Don’t force it.  Afterwards, sanitise the area and leave it alone.  If your problem is them pesky clogged pores, a gentle steaming of the face should loosen the sebum/dirt, making them easier to remove.  Again, don’t force it.  If it doesn’t unclog easily it’s not ready to be removed.  Patience my dears 😌
  • Moisturise your neck!  We moisturise the face but tend to neglect the neck.  Don’t forget, the neck is fragile skin too and will sag and wrinkle one day, so let’s delay that for as long as possible by moisturising 😉
  • Use a clay mask once a week!  If you find you have congested and dull skin, a clay mask will do wonders.  I would highly recommend the ‘Aztec secret Indian healing clay’.  OMG! This stuff is magic!  It literally pulls all the gunk from my skin and leaves it glowing and so soft!
  • Eat healthy!  We’ve all heard the saying ‘you are what you eat’.  It’s no different for your skin.  Your diet will probably be refleced in your skin (some people are luckier than others). Eating fruits and veggie (especially leafy green veg) will do wonders for your skin.  It’s like a detox.  Whereas when you eat sugary, starch foods, it’s likely you will get oily and spotty skin (not always though).  Also, stay away from food you know breaks you out.  For example, my skin cannot take eggs and goes all volcanoefied on me.  However, it likes yoghurt and milk (weird huh?).  Everyone has different trigger foods and once you’ve found what yours is (if you’re unlucky enough to have one), try to avoid it 😞.
  • Last but not least, BE HAPPY!  We all know stress can cause the ugliest of pimples.  Try and keep your mood positive.  Always look at the bright side of life and be optimistic.  Try meditating or yoga if you have had a bad day.  It’ll translate on your face.

Just remember, no matter what you’re going through, there is light at the end of every tunnel, no matter how faint 😇

Stay happy and healthy my loves ❤️

I hope you enjoyed this post.  Comment if you want me to post about anything specific!  I appreciate all the likes and comments 😊

Love you all,

Lush ‘Angels On Bare Skin’ Cleanser Review

Hi there beauties!

This is my first review on the blog and I can’t wait to start!  😄

As I’ve mentioned, I am obsessed with skincare and am always on the hunt for new products.  I have combination type skin with a very oily t-zone and drier cheeks.  Quite a difficult skin type to work with in my humble opinion.   My biggest skin complaint is clogged pores, especially around my nose and chin areas.  It seems as though whatever I try (even products that claim to unclog pores!) either make little difference or clog them even more!  Thankfully I have found my perfect skincare routine after years of searching high and low (I will describe my skincare routine in another post).

This is where Angels On Bare Skin by Lush comes in handy (no doubt my most favourite lush product ever!).  Lush claims that this cleanser absorbs dirt, tones and brightens the skin, leaving a lovely glow.  I agree!

This face and body cleanser is made up of all natural ingredients, some of which include:

  • Kaolin to absorb grease and dirt
  • Lavender oil and Rose absolute to calm the skin
  • Ground almonds to brighten and polish the skin

The consistency is a thick paste which may leave you asking how it works as a cleanser.      To use the product, you take a pinch of the paste and put it into the palm of your hand.  Next, add a tiny amount of water to it and mix gently to create a milky, lighter paste.   Carefully apply this onto your face or body and start working it into the skin in circular motions (I like to do this for around a minute).  Then, rinse as normal.  Voilà!

This cleanser can be a bit messy on the first few attemps and usually falls everywhere!  However, you’ll eventually get the hang of it 🙂

I was a bit hesitant at first to try products from lush as my skin is super sensitive and breaks out to most products.  Natural hasn’t always been best for my skin but I can truly say this has been a life saver!  It hasn’t broken me out once yet and leaves my face feeling so moisturised afterwards with no dryness (plus no nasty chemicals!).  I finish off with a light moisturiser afterwards such as clinique’s dramatically different moisturising gel as I don’t feel the need for a heavier moisturiser after using this cleanser.

I would recommend this cleanser in a heartbeat to anyone no matter what your skin type is.  I would say it is gentle enough to use everyday (I use it on one day and then miss a day etc).  This leaves my face with a definite glow, unclogs my pores and leaves it feeling extremely smooth and hydrated.

The only con to this product is that it doesn’t remove makeup too well.  I would describe this as an exfoliator, not a cleanser to remove makeup.  I first go in with either a micellar water or cleansing oil  to really cleanse the skin and use angels on bare skin afterwards.

Remember that Lush products do have expiry dates (I believe this can be used for 4 months). I have been using this since July and have nearly finished it.  I would also recommend a patch test first.

So will I be repurchasing?!

I will definitely be repurchasing this product again and I believe it’s worth every penny!  An absolutely amazing product from lush 😌

I hope you enjoyed this review and that I didn’t bore you!  Any constructive feedback would be much appreciated and if you would like me to review something, please feel free to ask.

Have a great day my dears!
