Lush Cup O’Coffee Face & Body Mask Review 🌼

Hello my lovelies ❤️

How are you all today?
Can you believe it’s July?!?!  TIME FLIES 😱 Shame the UK weather is making it feel like it’s March or something! 😂

Anyways, Today I wanted to review a mask/scrub from Lush that I have been loving!

Lush Cup O’Coffee Face & Body Mask

This is the Cup O’Coffee face & body mask.  This is a must have for coffee lovers as it has such a deep scent of coffee which is actually extremely invigorating! (Even though I’m more of a tea person 😉)

This masks contains Kaolin to draw out any impurities from the skin and the ground coffee in this acts to slough away dead skin cells that may have built up.

As you can see it’s a pretty scary looking mask 😂 but I promise you it’s worth it.  This lasts absolutely AGES and doesn’t need to be stored in the refrigerator unlike the fresh face masks by Lush.  You take a liberal amount of the product and apply it to the desired area in soft, circular motions.  I leave it on for around 15 minutes and then gently scrub off with lukewarm water.

A small warning, this mask can get quite messy when removing as it leaves tiny coffee particles EVERYWHERE!

Everytime I use this mask, I am blown away by it.  My skin honestly GLOWS 🌞 and a slap of moisturiser afterwards just leaves my skin feeling so baby soft, rejuvenated and radiant.
It’s also not that pricey! I believe I bought a 100g tub for £6.50 (and it lasted me a couple of months)

However, I feel the scent is a love or hate kind of scent.  I know some people who absolutely detest the smell of this mask.

I give this mask a 8/10 and I would honestly keep repurchasing it ❤️ I love it.

Have any of you guys tried this mask?

What is your favourite Lush mask?

Let me know 😊
Until next time my loves,

Product Review: Benefit The POREfessional 🌹

Hey guys!! ❤️

It’s such a lovely day today 🌞 I’ve actually decided to take a day off from writing my dissertation and just relax because… why not?! 😏

I’m feeling so energised so I thought I would sit down and write a long overdue review on Benefit’s the POREfessional.  This primer is RAVED about in the beauty world, and I’d like to share my thoughts 😊

This primer has been stated to help minimise the appearance of pores and fine lines which complements all skin types!

Now, you guys know I suffer from extremely oily skin (it will be a slick in less than 2 hours) HOWEVER, surprisingly, I don’t have large pores at all. D’oh.  So I thought I would test the claim that it minimises pores on my mother (who has quite large pores).

Does it work? ✔️ tick. Indeed it does.  I was amazed. Her pores had literally vanished in front of my eyes.  This is probably due to the silicones etc which work to fill the pores.  Wash it off, and the effect is gone.

This is a flesh coloured primer, but it quickly turns translucent once you start blending it in.  It’s so velvety soft and leaves your skin feeling dry and matte.

This primer does have a strong scent to it but surprisingly, I don’t mind it!  It’s sort of a citrusy, artificial smell but it doesn’t last long.

The big question however… does it prolong the wear of my makeup and keep my oils at bay?

Yes, yes it does.  My makeup still looks smooth and creasefree after a few hours and shine is kept under control for around 4 hours (which is a blessing for me!).  If I wanted, I could apply this primer on top of my makeup if my shine did get out of hand because it’s translucent and gives a matte finish straight away.  I think I prefer the porefessional to the nivea post shave balm (which I LOVE).  I would probably stay away from this primer if you have dry skin though, as it really does make the skin feel quite dry and tight.

One thing however, that really bugs me about this product and makes me hesitant to repurchase, is the PRICE.  I use the mini version which costs me £9.95 for 0.25 ounces (lasts me about a month) and the larger 0.75 ounce is a whopping £24.50!  Definitely the most expensive primer I’ve tried.  For that price, I’d expect some magic ingredient in there that actually helps minimise the size of pores, like salicylic acid.

If anyone knows any good dupes to this primer, please let me know 😊 I’ve heard maybelline’s baby skin is a dupe but the reviews have been largely on the negative side 😢

I hope you’ve enjoyed this review and let me know which is your favourite primer in the comments section!

Have a relaxing Sunday guys!

⭐️ L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable Foundation Review…

Hey lovelies!

Hope everyone is fine and dandy! ❤️

I’m slowly getting back into a normal blogging routine as I seem to have a lot of time of my hands lately (dissertation? What dissertation?! 🌚😏)

Today, I finally wanted to bring you a review on the L’Oreal true match foundation!  This foundation seems to have been around for a while now and everyone always raves on about it!  Let’s see what I think…

L’Oreal true match foundation W4

First of all, let’s talk about the packaging.  It’s an attractive looking glass bottle which makes picking shades out so much easier (unlike L’Oreal infallible pro-matte 😔).  The bottle has a pump which dispenses a decent amount of foundation in a controlled way (unlike MAC’s prolongwear concealer…ladies, who knows what I’m talking about?).

The foundation has an spf of 17 which is always a nice bonus!  It also claims to:

⭐️ Perfectly match your skin tone

⭐️ Smoothen out and make your skin look healthier in two weeks

⭐️ Give a natural finish

The foundation comes in a FABULOUS array of shades.  I love the fact that L’Oreal do a good range of yellow/golden toned foundations (usually when I buy a drugstore foundation, it looks very pink/orange on me).

I chose the shade W4- Golden Natural (for reference, I am around a nc35-37 in MAC).

The consistency of the foundation is quite runny, and it gives a light to medium coverage which is buildable.

I had high hopes for this foundation but boy oh boy was I let down 😫

As you know, I have extremely oily skin so am always a bit iffy with foundations.  This one claimed to have good oil control and was oil free and non comedogenic (I still like a nice ‘glowy’ look though).

The first few days I used this foundation, I liked it.  It gave a lovely natural, sheer finish, blended pretty easily and my face looked radiant.  However, I didn’t wear it for long (probably 2-3 hours) so I couldn’t really tell if it was good for oily skin.

The real test was when I wore this to a wedding (early morning to late night) for a couple of days.  I applied my smashbox primer, applied about 2-3 pumps of foundation and set it with some powder.  Jolly good…

HOLY COW GUYS.  You should have seen my face after around the 4 hour mark.  I was a hot mess!  My oils were seeping through, the foundation had broken down where I get most oily in the worst possible way and it had oxidised slightly to a orange colour.  It was shocking (and no one even told me 😭 maybe they were trying to be nice?! 😂)

I ran to the bathrooms, and just had to wipe it off.  My natural skin looked better than with the foundation to be completely honest 😭

I also didn’t find it very comfortable to wear.  I felt greasy and could ‘feel’ the foundation on my face after a while.

I’m not saying this foundation is rubbish.  If I was to wear this again, I would only wear it on a day when I was indoors, no running about, for a short period of time. For a long day, no way.  Disastrous 😩

So, to my oily skinned ladies, if you’re looking for a long lasting, oil controlling foundation, this one is not it unfortunately (in my opinion anyway).  For my normal to dry skinned ladies, I think this would be amazing for you guys!  You get a glowy, flawless finish! 🌞

It’s so hard finding a foundation that can control oil.  Do you remember my post asking you guys for help?

I think I’ve narrowed it down to the Revlon Colourstay foundation for oily skin or Mac Studio Fix Fluid foundation (L’Oreal infallible didn’t have any shades that matched me 😔 the UK stocks very limited shades which is annoying!)

Just remember, everyone is different.  What didn’t work for me might just end up working for you.  It’s all trial and error ❤️

That concludes my review of this foundation!  I hope you found this helpful!

Does anyone else use this foundation?  I’d love to hear your opinions on it!

Have a lovely day guys and until next time!

Nivea Post Shave Balm Review

HEY BABES! 😱❤️

I’m soooo sorry that I’ve been gone so long 😭 I had the most horrible exam period but it’s FINALLY over!  I’m back in uni on Monday for my final ever semester 😱 time flies!

Anyway. How are you all?! ❤️

Today, I wanted to give you all my opinion on the Nivea Post Shave Balm in sensitive as a primer!  I’ve been hearing sooo many awesome things about it so just had to pick it up (felt a bit awkward venturing into the men’s aisle 😂)!   NikkieTutorials on youtube first blessed us with this hack.  Let’s see if it lives up to the hype…

nivea post shave balm

I purchased the balm in sensitive because my skin freaks out sometimes when I put something new on it.

I’m not really sure about the science behind why this works as a primer but I know it contains a large amount of glycerin which helps your foundation latch onto it!

Now, you all know I have.. Probably the oiliest skin to ever grace mankind 😂 so I was quite skeptical about this working on me, but for the cheap price I was willing to give it a shot.

The consistency of this is more like a really lightweight moisturiser than a balm.  One thing I don’t like about the packaging is I find it difficult to control how much comes out but hey! Can’t win them all!

I apply this after my moisturiser (I don’t know if I’m meant to though?!?! Does it affect how it works?! Someone let me know!).  I rub about a pea sized amount in my hand (a small amount is PLENTY) and apply all over my face.  This does have quite a manly smell of aftershave but this disappears after a few seconds.  It also gets a little tacky so your foundation or concealer really clings onto it.

After I’ve applied it to my face, I take my foundation or concealer and apply as normal.  Does it work? YES!

My skin after a long day looks way less oily than without this balm.  Being as oily as I am, I was bound to get a little shiny but honestly this has made a visible difference, especially on my nose and forehead!  My foundation looked pretty much intact, whereas normally it would be sliding off my face and just generally look like a million ice bergs. Ha!

ALSO, I don’t know whether it’s the new mask I’m using or this balm, but my skin looks a lot more even and my scars are decreasing!  I’ll investigate and let you know 😉

The only downside to this is the lack of control I have when dispensing product but with the amount of product in this, I don’t think I’m running out any time soon!

I just hope drugstores don’t hike the price of this baby up!  Everybody go stockpile some 😂

I would recommend this for all skintypes!  It’s a solid primer and I’m glad I don’t need to spend £££ on other high end primers!

10/10

Hope you found this little review helpful! Can’t wait to get back into a blogging routine again!  Any questions please let me know!

Have a nice day!

NARS concealers review

Hey everyone!

Hope you’re all having a wonderful day 🙂

I’ve been so busy with university these past few days that it’s been quite hard to blog. I’ve been trying to strike a good balance with work, social life etc and I think I’m getting there slowly.  It takes a while to get used to all the work again after a good 4-5 months off doing pretty much nothing! 😉

Today I wanted to do a review on two NARS concealers which are by FAR my most favourite concealers ever! (and I’m a tough lass to please).

The two concealers are the NARS radiant creamy concealer and the NARS stick concealer which are both in the shade ‘ginger’.  This shade is described as a shade for medium complexions with golden undertones.  The radiant creamy concealer has 10 shades and the stick version has 9 shades.  These retail at £22 and £19 respectively.

NARS radiant creamy concealer and stick concealer in ‘ginger’

The radiant creamy concealer comes with a wand applicator and you get a decent 0.22 oz of product.  This concealer is fabulous!  It’s the only concealer shade that matches my skin PERFECTLY!  Trust me, being a medium toned girl with olive/golden undertones made it so hard for me to find a concealer shade that was perfect from the drugstore, so NARS definitely saved me there.  Since it matches me so perfectly, I like to use this concealer on days I am not wearing foundation by pinpoint concealing my blemishes.  This method makes my face look flawless without using too much product.  It’s also brilliant for covering dark circles (which most people would probably use the creamy one for) and the variety of shades allows you to also highlight and contour with a seamless finish.

This concealer is so creamy and has a medium to full coverage, so you definitely don’t need a lot.  I start with a small amount and blend it with a damp sponge and then build up coverage if necessary.  This instantly blurs any imperfections and fine lines.  It also has light diffusing technology which softens the look of skin (plus it’s non comedogenic yay!).  The reason I love this concealer so much is because of the pigment.  Some concealers disappear as soon as you start to blend them but this is a very opaque yet lightweight consistency which ensures you’re not wasting product.

The next concealer is the stick version.  This a much more opaque version of the creamy concealer and is good for covering stubborn hyperpigmentation/blemishes.  It is still creamy and easy to blend and I think it’s great for my oily skin as it leaves a COMPLETELY matte finish and stays matte throughout the day (absolutely no shimmer unlike a lot of concealers).  It’s extremely long wearing, crease resistant and has a nourishing vitamin rich formula that looks after the skin.  Both these concealers are formulated without parabens, alcohol, sulfates and fragrances.

Also, these concealers don’t oxidise on my skin.  With previous concealers I found that they turned a ghastly shade of orange on my very yellow undertoned skin after a few hours, no matter what primer/setting powder I used.  So I am very pleasantly surprised at the formulation and wear.  I’m also so glad that NARS has concealers and foundations suited to us girls with yellow undertones (pale or darker skinned) which seems to be so hard to find at the drugstore.  Other brands with good yellow undertones include Bobbi Brown and MAC (worth the price you have to pay)

I rate these concealers a fab 9/10 (bit overpriced for some people but I think it’s totally worth it!  I’ve repurchased these about 6 times LOL).  If I had to choose one makeup product to keep for the rest of my life IT WOULD BE A NARS CONCEALER DAMMIT! 😉

I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a long wearing, matte finish concealer with a good (and unnervingly accurate) shade selection.  NARS is a bit overpriced in my opinion but honestly, these are so worth it.  I can see why makeup artists and the like love them so much!  Go try them!

I hope you enjoyed this review and let me know what your favourite NARS product is or what’s on your wishlist 🙂  I’d love to hear from you.

Hope you all have a glorious day!
