Winged Eyeliner Tutorial πŸ’–

Hey guys!!

Hope you’re all doing brilliant! ❀️

TGIF!  I’ve had such a horrible week what with all my university coursework deadlines looming! (writing a long ass essay on why we itch?! 😩).  I hope you guys have had a better week than me 😊

Some of you may remember my last post where I did a rainbow eyeliner tutorial!  It got an awesome response (love you guys πŸ’•) and quite a few of you asked for a tutorial on how to do winged and non winged eyeliner!  So, here it is!

Winged eyeliner can be difficult to achieve sometimes (I still struggle and end up flinging my eyeliner pen across the room in anger πŸ˜‚).  It can take a few attempts to get it perfect and equal but trust me when I say: Practice makes perfect! πŸ’• (plus don’t fear the eyeliner… It can sense your fear) 😌

For this tutorial, I used an eyeliner pen.  I feel I have more control with a pen and it’s great for those of you who are beginners as the thin tip helps a lot.

So let’s get straight into it!

I first like to start in the inner corner and work my way outwards and do the wing last, whereas some of you might prefer to do the wing first.  Whatever floats your boat 😊

If you have trouble forming a straight line, I recommend using the dot to dot technique!  Simply draw some dots close to your upper lash line and connect them using small strokes!

Once you have connected them and got your line (you can do it as thick or as thin as you want) you may wish to leave it here or add a wing!

To draw the wing, I like to draw a diagonal line from the outer corner of my eye up towards the tail of my eyebrows.  You can keep it short and sweet or really extend it for a feline flick 😏

If you are really struggling to get a nice straight angle, you can use something as a guide!  I like to use a sticky note pad or cellotape!

You pretty much get the same result (plus it’s a lot neater!)

Once you have your angle, you want to connect it back to the first line that we did on our upper lash line.  What I like to do is connect it from just above the halfway point of my wing so I still have a nice thin tip.

Simple drag your eyeliner pen down to form a triangle that connects with the first line, like so.  It doesn’t have to be perfect because we are going to fill this triangle in!

Next, fill in the triangle trying to stay within the lines.

If you do happen to mess it up a bit, take a q-tip and some makeup remover and simple swipe away the mess!  You can also use makeup remover to really sharpen the tip of the wing!

And there you go!!  Wings sharp enough to fly! 😏❀️

As for getting it equal on both sides, I recommend looking straight down into a mirror and using the same points of reference for each eye i.e the outer corner of your eyelid.

I really hope some of you found this helpful!  If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask!  And I also hope you like these picture tutorials?! Let me know 😊

Hope you all have an amazing day, and may the wings of your liner always be even β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈπŸ˜‚

See you later guys!

Thank you doll! And yes I do have quite deep set eyes with a lot of lid space (however I feel I don’t suit winged eyeliner lol). I think the key is just knowing what looks best on your eye shape! I find that for people with less lid space, only lining the outer 2/3 of your upper eye lid looks amazing! Highlighting the inner corners (or using a white liner to tightline) will also give an extra pop and the illusion of bigger eyes ❀️ thanks for reading xxx
