Essence Makeup Haul β€οΈ

Hi gorgeous people!

How are we all doing on this lovely day? 🍁

First of all, Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating!  Hope you have a lovely time with all of your loved ones and of course, enjoy the food! πŸ˜‰

We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK but I still like to think about what I’m grateful for 😊

As for the Black Friday sales, let’s just say I have been going a bit mad online πŸ˜‚ so many awesome makeup deals!!  From the confort of my own home of course 😌❀️

Today, I wanted to finally do a post that I’ve been meaning to do for a while!  A few weeks ago, I bought a couple of lip products by a brand named ‘Essence’ (y’all know how crazy I am about my lip products 😏)

I hadn’t actually heard of this brand and spotted it in my local Wilko.  The products were incredibly cheap and the colours were stunningly beautiful!  A few of them have become some of my all time favourites so I’m really excited to show you some swatches!

I bought 4 lip products:

❀️ 2 longlasting lipsticks in the shades ’06 Barely there’ and ’05 cool nude’

❀️ XXXL longlasting lipgloss matt effect in ’06 soft nude’

❀️ Lipliner in the shade ’11 in the nude’

Essence swatches

As you can see, the colours are extremely similar yet… Different πŸ˜‚.  Please tell me someone understands this problem?!

First of all, let’s talk about the price!  These 4 products cost under Β£10 in total and range from Β£0.99 to Β£2.30!!  Bargain or what?!

The packaging is nice and sturdy.  I especially like the packaging for the lipsticks.  It’s very classy and simple and the ring of colour around the tubes is true to the actual colour!

So let’s move onto some swatches and my thoughts of each product!

Essence lipliner ‘in the nude’

I love the shades of their lipliners and did want some other colours but they were out of stock! 😩

So, I picked up this gorgeous, neutral nude colour.  I was very surprised at the quality of these for Β£0.99!  Quite creamy and very pigmented.  I wouldn’t say it rivals MAC lipliners but it sure is close!  I would recommend applying a lip balm lightly first though because it can drag on dry lips but I’m not complaining!  Can’t wait to buy some more shades ( I love Satin Mauve! )

Essence XXXL longlasting lipgloss matt ‘soft nude’

This matt lipgloss is absolutely delightful!  This shade is a soft peachy pink shade and is apparently a dupe of MAC’s ‘velvet teddy’! 😍

This applies like a dream!  It’s so soft and velvety.  It does take a while to turn matte though I personally find.  These remind me of Collections cream puff lip creams!  It smells divine, like cake batter and vanilla πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

However, I don’t know why this product is named longlasting.  It really isn’t πŸ˜ͺ  I find it comes off very easily (even with a swipe of the finger) so I would only wear it on top of a lipliner.  But for Β£2.29 I can’t really complain!  The colour is pigmented and the applicator makes it very easy to apply.  I wish they would come out with more colours though 😫

Essence lipstick ‘cool nude’

Essence lipsticks are definitely one of my favourites!  This shade is a dupe for MAC’s ‘faux’ (blimey essence, you’re doing a good job of saving me some £££! )

This shade is again a lovely neutral pink.  There is no shimmer in these lipsticks which is a big bonus!  These lipsticks are so creamy and pigmented so I don’t even need a lipbalm and at Β£2.30 they aren’t breaking the bank! ❀️

I have found that they don’t last for more than 3-4 hours though, but I guess that’s expected.  I am happy to reapply 😊 A lipliner will increase the longevity.

These lipsticks don’t have a vanilla smell like the lipgloss and most other lipsticks I use.  They smell of… I guess slightly like playdoh, but very faintly so it doesn’t put me off.

Essence lipstick ‘Barely there’

This shade is my absolute favourite shade OF ALL TIME GUYS!  I am not exaggerating!  I have been wearing this almost everyday and I reach for it a lot when I want a neutral yet still noticeable pop of colour!  It honestly is stunning and so lightweight.  Definitely need to pick up some more tubes of this (I’m paranoid they’ll stop making it πŸ˜‚).

I also love the ‘e’ embossed in the side of these lipsticks.   It gives them a higher end feeling ❀️

So, overall I am EXTREMELY happy with my little haul.  I was so pleasantly surprised and can’t wait to try out some other products.  If you haven’t tried them GO GO GO!  You will love them! 😍😍

I really hope you enjoyed this post!  If you have any questions about the products or a post you would like me to do ask away!!

See you soon!

Peggy Sage Cosmetics Review πŸ’„

Hey everyone!

Hope you’re all doing great! πŸ’‹

I’m really excited for todays post as I will be testing and reviewing a brand named Peggy Sage!

This is a really big brand in Europe and is slowly getting loads of attention in the UK!  I was lucky enough to be sent a few makeup products for review.  They also do amazing nail, skin and body care! ⭐️

This is a very luxurious, professional range and is actually very affordable for the quality you are getting!

So let’s get right into it! ✨

Peggy Sage Cosmetics

L-R: Mosaic Powder and Shimmering Illuminating Powder

The first products I tested were the:

-Shimmering illuminating powder in the shade ‘PΓͺche’

-Mosaic powder in ‘Γ©tΓ© indien’

I was so excited to try these and I was not disappointed!  The texture is actually really soft and creamy which I love and they applied very easily.  The illuminating powder is a great highlighter which I love using on the high points of my face, and the mosaic powder gives illumination and some warmth to the face.

(Excuse the different lighting 😒).
As you can see, these are so beautiful!  It’s safe to say I felt like a shining, gleaming glitter ball πŸ˜‰  Definitely the best highlighter and bronzer I own!  These retail at Β£13.10 and Β£10.70 respectively.

Next, I tested the variety of lip products (and you guys know how much I love my lipsticks!)

Peggy Sage Cosmetics

If we start from the top left and go clockwise we have:

-Matte lipsticks (not sure what the shades are, 2 nudes and a rose)

-Lak for Lips in the shade ‘Baby Lak’ (this is like a liquid lipstick/gloss)

-Lipstick in the shade ‘lie de vin’

-Lip liner pencil in the shade ‘bois de rose’

Can we just talk about the packaging for a second?!

It’s so sleek and definitely durable!  The lipstick packaging reminds me of the NARS rubber packaging on their lipsticks and I honestly couldn’t tell a difference😊

Now for some swatches!

Matte Lipsticks

Paggy Sage Matte Lipstick swatches

I was pleasantly surprised with the Matte Lipsticks.  I thought that because they are matte, they might dry out my lips and drag but my oh my!  These were actually extremely creamy and dried to a matte finish  (Plus the amount of product you get is fabulous) 😌 These retail at Β£8.10

I was terrified of using the nude colours in case they washed me out but they didn’t! YAY!  My favourite shade is the one on the bottom right!  I have been wearing it everyday  since I received it and will definitely be repurchasing 😍

Next, I have another lipstick swatchπŸ’‹

Peggy Sage Lipstick in ‘lie de vin’

This lipstick was so creamy and velvety smooth when I applied it to my lips and has the most stunning pigmentation!  This lasted a good few hours and did fade slightly after eating.  It leaves the most gorgeous stain!  Overall, in terms of the texture and pigmentation, this rivals my current favourite lipstick formulation (intensely lavish lipsticks by KIKO) πŸ’„πŸ’„ So spot on peggy sage!   This retails at Β£7.10.

Peggy Sage Lip liner

I have been going through a massive lip liner phase so I was really excited to try this out! 😍 I was not disappointed.

The best lipliners I have tried come from MAC, which cost anywhere between Β£12-Β£15.  This lipliner is Β£4.50 and rivals those by MAC.  The swatch above is just one application so the pigmentation is on point!  They also don’t drag much, however as always, I would recommend adding some balm underneath to make application extra easier.
I didn’t swatch the limited edition Lak for Lips just because the colour sent washed me out completely (can’t win them all hehe), however, if anyone is interested, it is non sticky, smells like cake batter 😍😍 and is so soft and creamy ❀️

So, to conclude this review… I would highly recommend this brand!  I honestly think the quality is amazing for the affordable prices and I’m surprised they are not bigger in the UK! 😱 so go check them out girls!  I can’t wait to check out some more products.  The skin care they do looks pretty amazing too ⭐️

I’ll provide some links below to their website and social media 😊

Winged Eyeliner Tutorial πŸ’–

Hey guys!!

Hope you’re all doing brilliant! ❀️

TGIF!  I’ve had such a horrible week what with all my university coursework deadlines looming! (writing a long ass essay on why we itch?! 😩).  I hope you guys have had a better week than me 😊

Some of you may remember my last post where I did a rainbow eyeliner tutorial!  It got an awesome response (love you guys πŸ’•) and quite a few of you asked for a tutorial on how to do winged and non winged eyeliner!  So, here it is!

Winged eyeliner can be difficult to achieve sometimes (I still struggle and end up flinging my eyeliner pen across the room in anger πŸ˜‚).  It can take a few attempts to get it perfect and equal but trust me when I say: Practice makes perfect! πŸ’• (plus don’t fear the eyeliner… It can sense your fear) 😌

For this tutorial, I used an eyeliner pen.  I feel I have more control with a pen and it’s great for those of you who are beginners as the thin tip helps a lot.

Kiko ultimate pen longwear eyeliner

Winged Eyeliner Tutorial

So let’s get straight into it!

I first like to start in the inner corner and work my way outwards and do the wing last, whereas some of you might prefer to do the wing first.  Whatever floats your boat 😊

If you have trouble forming a straight line, I recommend using the dot to dot technique!  Simply draw some dots close to your upper lash line and connect them using small strokes!

Once you have connected them and got your line (you can do it as thick or as thin as you want) you may wish to leave it here or add a wing!

To draw the wing, I like to draw a diagonal line from the outer corner of my eye up towards the tail of my eyebrows.  You can keep it short and sweet or really extend it for a feline flick 😏

If you are really struggling to get a nice straight angle, you can use something as a guide!  I like to use a sticky note pad or cellotape!

You pretty much get the same result (plus it’s a lot neater!)

Once you have your angle, you want to connect it back to the first line that we did on our upper lash line.  What I like to do is connect it from just above the halfway point of my wing so I still have a nice thin tip.

Simple drag your eyeliner pen down to form a triangle that connects with the first line, like so.  It doesn’t have to be perfect because we are going to fill this triangle in!

Next, fill in the triangle trying to stay within the lines.

If you do happen to mess it up a bit, take a q-tip and some makeup remover and simple swipe away the mess!  You can also use makeup remover to really sharpen the tip of the wing!

And there you go!!  Wings sharp enough to fly! 😏❀️

As for getting it equal on both sides, I recommend looking straight down into a mirror and using the same points of reference for each eye i.e the outer corner of your eyelid.

I really hope some of you found this helpful!  If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask!  And I also hope you like these picture tutorials?! Let me know 😊

Hope you all have an amazing day, and may the wings of your liner always be even β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈπŸ˜‚

See you later guys!

Bonfire Night Inspired Rainbow Eyeliner β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’œ

Hi there lovely people!

I can’t believe it’s already November!!  Time absolutely flies by and I don’t like it haha!  πŸ˜£

As you know it was November 5th yesterday.  Bonfire night!!  I absolutely love watching fireworks and seeing all the different colours (even though it was chucking it down πŸŽ†).  I thought I’d do a fun and vibrant rainbow eyeliner tutorial for you guys!  I think it’s very wearable and glam!

Rainbow eyeliner tutorial

For this tutorial I used my trusty BH cosmetics day and night palette due to the wide range of vibrant colours!

BH cosmetics day and night palette

πŸ’₯ I first primed my eyelids so that the colours would look more vibrant.  I also used some water on my brushes to make sure the colours were really pigmented (as a few colours in this palette aren’t extremely pigmented).

πŸ’₯ Next, I did some winged eyeliner with the kiko ultimate pen long wear eyeliner.  It doesn’t have to be winged.  I just thought it was a nice effect 😊 (if you’d like to see a winged eyeliner tutorial let me know!)

Kiko ultimate pen long wear eyeliner

πŸ’₯ Next comes the slightly tricky bit. Adding all the colours.  Take a very small detailer brush to do this part.
Wet your brush a bit and take each respective colour.  It doesn’t have to be rainbow either!! You could do different shades of green or blue and build a gradient.  Have fun with it!

Apply the colour above the eyeliner in small strokes.  A small square is sufficient for each colour. Keep going until you reach the wing and slightly wing out the last colour you use.

Rainbow Eyeliner

If you do get eyeshadow over your eyeliner don’t worry about it!  We can over the eyeliner again and sharpen it up.  If you smudge anything simple take a q tip and some makeup remover and wipe away.

Rainbow Eyeliner Tutorial

If you struggle with eyeliner, you can buy eyeliner guides these days!  Simple apply the stencil to where you want to apply your eyeliner and fill in.  Remember, practice makes perfect!  It’s just eyeliner.  You can remove it and start again in no time 😊

To complete the look, I added some lovely green eyeshadow to my bottom lash line making sure to blend it.  You can also add a highlight to your inner corner and brow bone to add an extra dimension.

Finish off with mascara and voilΓ !!  A gorgeous, fun and vibrant look that believe it or not, is extremely wearable!

Rainbow Eyeliner

I really hope you enjoyed this tutorial and I hope some of are brave enough to try it out!!  Let me know if you do.  I would love to see your versions!!  Remember to have fun with it!

If you want to see a specific tutorial etc please let me know ❀️❀️

Hope you had a wonderful Bonfire Night.  Stay safe guys!!

Lipstick Madness πŸ’„

Hey everyone!

Hope you’re all doing awesome!

I wasn’t actually meant to post until tomorrow (bonfire night inspired makeup anyone?) but couldn’t resist injecting some lipstick craziness!

So this is going to be a very short post and I hope you feel warm and fuzzy inside like I do when I see lipsticks πŸ˜‚

Lipstick Favourites

Here we have my most favourite lipsticks ever!  They include a wide variety, from drugstore to high end (M.A.C, NARS, Maybelline, Essence (my new fave!) and Kiko just to name a few).

As you can see I really like my mauvey nude shades.  I can just swipe them on and off I go!  I can’t resist not buying a mauve shade and have a long list of future buys πŸ˜‚πŸ˜

If you would like to see a more in depth post about my lipstick collection please let me know!  I’d love to show you swatches on the lips!

I am planning my future posts right now as I am so busy these days!  So keep a look out for more tutorials, hauls and reviews!  And please feel free to comment if you would like me to post about anything specific!

Thanks for reading this mini post!

Hope you have a safe 5th November! πŸ’₯πŸ’₯
Love you all!
